Day 1 and 2 – The journey (06. -07.11.2011)

November 9, 2011

Finally I travelled to Japan. It took only seven years until this dream came real. Since I have some friends that aren’t that good in German but seem interested in my vacation, I’ll try to report my journey in English.

Well, Murphy really loves me. I was sick the day the vacation started. This time I tried to get through the safety control with a metal spike in my Hair… safety my ass. I can stab someone with that thing!

I felt like shit during the flight. I couldn’t sleep, the movies were crap, the food awful and the seats totally uncomfortable. However, I arrived in Japan in one piece and started to feel better. For the immigration office we had to fill in a form with very interesting questions. Dear Japanese people. No I am not a criminal and was never deported from Japan. I also have no criminal intentions and am no terrorist. And if I had a gun, a sword or illegal goods with me I wouldn’t tell you.

We got from Narita to Tokyo changed on the Shinkansen to Shinegawa, Osaka and Kokura. From Kokura we took a regional train to Beppu… it took only nine hours. Shesh, I was dead afterwards. The Hotel revived me immediately. The rooms are awesome, they get us a special dinner because we were too late for the regular one (Shabu Shabu ftw!) and then we enjoyed some relaxing time in the Onsen. Dear, I really want to have an Onsen at home!

I really started to enjoy my journey. Hum, it needs some times to get used to this overwhelming politeness of the Japanese people. It is scary when they bow in front of you every time you get near.
